The Story Our clients began from scratch in 2016, driven by determination, a strong work ethic, and a solid belief in sustainable beef production. Through hard work, persistence, and an unwavering belief in their product, they have transformed their vision into a high-output breeding operation. They have built this legacy themselves and are now seeking a passionate, capable person to join their team. They acknowledge they are lifelong learners and want a team member who shares that hunger for excellence and professional growth. The Operation & Management Philosophy Spanning over 80,000 acres of Gidgee and Mitchell Grass downs, the business runs a core of approximately 3,000 breeders with a total of 6,500 cattle on hand. The enterprise has a highly consistent supply chain, turning cattle off monthly to a feedlot for custom feeding. The core management focus is on pasture management through a forage budgeting system and an annual summer spelling. The operation prioritises high-standard, quiet stockmanship skills and uses an intensive weaner training program to ensure maximum animal productivity and calm temperaments. Major infrastructure upgrades commenced in 2025 and will continue into 2027, with new fencing, water infrastructure, and yards being constructed to achieve efficient, sustainable beef production. The Role This position is for a disciplined individual who is willing to put the time in to learn the nuances of cattle and pasture management under the direct mentorship of the owners. Daily responsibilities include participating in helicopter musters and operating 2-wheel motorbikes over rough terrain. While fencing and vehicle maintenance are standard, the ability to maintain artesian water systems and fix poly pipe is critical to the success of this role. For the right candidate who demonstrates discipline and curiosity, the owners are willing to include you in business operational meetings and explain the financial planning behind the agribusiness. The Ideal Candidate Be enthusiastic about sustainable commercial cattle breeding, eager to learn and advance in your career. You should have at least three years of experience in cattle operations and be skilled in quiet handling techniques. You use a system for tasks to make sure nothing is missed and to prevent a backlog of work from piling up. You value open and honest communication and are willing to take direction as part of a small, dedicated team. Possess a range of practical skills, including machinery maintenance, water infrastructure, welding, and fencing. The Offer This position offers a highly competitive salary range plus super, depending on experience. The role includes a high-standard two-bedroom cottage, covered electricity costs, and Unlimited Starlink Wi-Fi. The property is within easy reach of a major regional hub such as Blackall. Interested?
